It's already 6 years in the USA since we moved from Japan. Our kids now speak better English than we parents do. Amazing. We moved again. Still in Manhattan Beach. Now we have nice back yard. Shion started high school in fall and Miu, who took drivers training in August drives him to school with her.
Shion still loves baseball but since it is not a fall sport, he started football and he loved it. He had a great season.
Miu finally became a concert mistress at Colburn Music School Chamber Orchestra and at their first concert in November, she performed a duet solo with the orchestra. Please check this out !! (http://miu.zz.tc/colburn)
She still loves volleyball and this fall, she started coaching a young team. Her team was undefeated during the season and she was very excited.
To my great sorrow this year my dad, Bill Mayes in Michigan, passed away in October. Since 1984 when I was an exchange student he has been my Dad. The last few days we spent together are my treasures forever.
Lots of new stuff happened in 2007 and we expect the same in 2008. We wish you a very happy, healthy, and prosperous 2008!!!
